I’m delighted to be able to announce that Destiny’s Tide, the first in my new naval historical trilogy set in the sixteenth century, is now available to pre-order on Amazon. I know that some of you prefer your books to have such ‘old school’ elements as paper, ink, and a reassuring bulk that weighs down your bags and fills up your bookshelves – as, in truth, do I – but for the time being, my publisher, Canelo, is digital-only, so please direct any requests for a print version to them, rather than bombarding me!
I recently provided a bit of a ‘teaser trailer’ for Destiny’s Tide, and will be providing more in the run-up to publication day in June. In the meantime, here’s the newly-launched cover, which I think looks pretty splendid!
I look forward to embarking on a new voyage in June!
The book link indicates the book is classified as “Crime, Thriller & Mystery- Thrillers,” which seems a bit odd for a sea story. If incorrect you have time to straighten this out. If correct please explain why.
Either way, I’ll be signing on as an Armchair Sailor!
Thanks, I’ll mention the category issue to my publisher (although even if I say so myself, the book does contain a fair bit of crime, thrills and mystery…)
I see Amazon describe it as ‘….stuffed to the gunwales with gripping naval combat and adventure….’ Gosh ! Are you now the reincarnation of Henty ? But, alas, my Kindle is dead (not blasted apart by a well known book dealer from Wigtown !) and as my book shelves are holding up my house I shall have to leave space for stuffing the gunwales with, hopefully by public demand, the black letter version ! Or, can someone lend me a Kindle ? Or the proofs ? Every success for a new generation of historical novels – to be mentioned by Amazon in the same genre as C S Forester and Patrick O’ Brian is splendid, but who on earth is Julian Stockwin ?
Julian’s an excellent author whom I’ve met a couple of times – https://julianstockwin.com/. Meanwhile, if I hear of a spate of attempted Kindle thefts in North Beds, I’ll know what’s going on!
Ah, yes, I’ve looked Julian up, and beg his pardon for being puzzled by seeing him on the same bill as your most august personage ! Curiosity about the ‘gripping naval combat’ bit will doubtless drive me to renew my Kindle and get one which lights up in the dark ! I would not like to nick someone’s Kindle – might be full of Barbara Cartland or Georgette Heyer ! Now, I’m going to be in Greenwich around 5th May – might just pop into the NMM and applaud an author of note !
Well, you could, but I’ll be there on the 2nd!!
Apologies – a Gregorian error – diary adjusted !
